Mandates for organizations are quoted following an initial conversation, based on the scope, duration, and institutional framework of the assignment.
Fees are set according to the type of intervention and agreed upon before the start of the engagement. They are provided with no obligation during the initial contact.
Aside from the coverage options described below, the standard hourly rate is CHF 200 in Geneva and CHF 180 in the canton of Vaud, generally shared between the participants. A mediation session typically lasts 1.5 to 2 hours.
The Geneva rate is identical to the rate applied under state-subsidized coverage (see below): the hourly cost of mediation therefore remains the same, whether or not this coverage applies.
In cases of co-mediation, a single hourly rate of CHF 250 applies.
In the canton of Geneva, civil mediation is subsidized by the State: the Bureau de la médiation (Mediation Office) of the judiciary funds 7.5 hours of mediation, renewable up to three times for a maximum of 30 hours, provided the participants jointly agree to use a sworn mediator and the dispute has a sufficient connection to the canton.

In the canton of Vaud, the first 5 hours of mediation are subsidized by the State as part of the Parental Consensus (COPAR) process, intended for parents going through separation or divorce. Beyond this, legal aid may be requested under certain conditions.
